Cynthia & Patrick - Wedding | Larsmont Cottages, Two Harbors, MN

We have had the privilege of being a part of weddings of all sizes.  Cynthia and Patrick's wedding was an intimate gathering of friends and family for their ceremony on the shore of Lake Superior at Larsmont Cottages.  As you can tell, it was a perfect day and I had a great time with them and their wedding party and guests.

Kristin & Alex - Wedding | Caribou Highlands Resort, Lutsen, MN

Kristin and Alex traveled home from Italy to have their wedding ceremony with family and friends at Caribou Highlands Resort on Lutsen Mountain.  We planned to make time to run up to Cascade River State Park which is about 15 minutes away, usually, but it took us a little longer because of some unexpected road construction.  A quick, semi-legal parking job and we were on the shore and back by the falls for some pictures, and then on the road back to the resort and the ceremony.  Kristin was hoping for some night star and moon shots, but we had overcast skies, so we improvised a little.

Paula & John - Wedding | Bluefin Bay Resort

I have to say that this opening shot is one of my recent favorites.  I spent the day with Paula and John up at Bluefin Bay Resort and they had scheduled quite a bit of time for pictures.  We took advantage of that by starting out at Temperance River State Park and then heading back over to Bluefin and the lake shore.  The ceremony was held on the patio overlooking the lake, and then we walked to the restaurant for the reception.

Michelle & Dan - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

We first met Michelle and Dan at the wedding show at Grand Superior Lodge, where they planned to have their wedding.  There was no question about it, it was raining on Michelle and Dan's wedding day.  It slowed down long enough to get outside for some pictures and it actually stopped long enough for their planned outdoor wedding ceremony.  Michelle and Dan and the whole wedding party were great to work with and insisted on going outside even under less than ideal circumstances.  We came away with some great images and captured some great memories of their day.  Click the "See More" link to see the rest of the images in this set.

Tammie & Jason - Wedding | Duluth, MN

Tammie and Jason's outdoor wedding was held at the Rose Garden on the shore of Lake Superior in Duluth.  We had a lot of time for pictures, so we wandered around Canal Park a bit and the Rose Garden before the ceremony.  After the ceremony, we headed over to Clyde Iron Works for the reception.  The cake and cupcakes were from How Sweet It Is Cakes.

Michelle & Max - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

Here's our last wedding of 2013!  Michelle and Max's wedding was held at Grand Superior Lodge.  It was a bit chilly out but otherwise the weather was perfect for their outdoor wedding.  The wedding party was a blast and kept us busy all day.  We had a great time working with Michelle, Max and their family and friends.  Here's a few images from their wedding day!

Emily & Eric - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

We headed up once again to Grand Superior Lodge for Emily and Eric's wedding.  They were suppose to have an outdoor ceremony, but the weather didn't cooperate.  We did brave the wind and rain though and headed up to Gooseberry Falls for a few pictures.  Emily and Eric were great to work with and their wedding and reception were beautiful.  Click through to see more images of their wedding day!

Molly & Jay - Wedding | Glensheen Historic Estate

Molly and Jay and their friends and family traveled from North Dakota for a destination wedding in Duluth.  We met Molly at the Language of Hair salon, then went to the Olcott House bed and breakfast for makeup and final touches.  Jay and the guys were down at the Fitgers Brewhouse so Matt met them there and then everyone made their way to Glensheen for pictures and the wedding ceremony.  The weather was pretty rough, but the rain held off and allowed the outdoor ceremony to go forward.  It was a fun crowd on the dance floor!  Here's some images from their wedding day!

Lauren & Brad - Wedding | Summit Chalet, Lutsen Mountain

Brad was waiting for Lauren and us at Cascade River State Park a few miles north of Lutsen Mountain where we picked up Lauren.  Their first look was within site of the falls.  After a few pictures, we headed back to Lutsen Mountain, and boarded the tram to the Summit Chalet where the wedding and reception were to take place.  We met the wedding party at the top of the mountain, and got some great pictures with the fall color.  During the ceremony, it started to rain, but only lasted as long as the outdoor ceremony, and didn't rain again that evening.  Awesome location and adventure for a wedding, and a beautiful couple to work with.  Here's a few images of their wedding day!

Lacey & Nick - Wedding | Glensheen Historic Estate

Glensheen Mansion in Duluth is always a great location to shoot a wedding and Lacey and Nick's was no exception.  The day started with overcast skies and threatening rain, but the sun came out at the start of their ceremony and stayed out the rest of the day.  To see some images from their engagement session, click here.  Lacey and Nick were great to work with and we're very happy they chose us to cover their wedding day.  Here's some images from their wedding!

Christy & Ryan - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

Christy and Ryan's wedding ceremony was held outdoors at Grand Superior Lodge.  The weather did not disappoint and was just about perfect for their day.  After the ceremony, we took a few pictures, then headed down the shore to the Clearwater Event Center for their dinner and reception.  Here's a few images from their wedding day!

We went to Brighton Beach and Lester Park in Duluth for Alanna and Tim's engagement session. Looking forward to their wedding in 2014!

Patrice & Andy - Wedding | Lutsen Resort Wedding

Patrice and Andy had a beautiful summer day for their intimate wedding at Lutsen Resort on Lake Superior.  I got to spend a few hours with them to capture their vows and photograph them and their family in this amazing setting.  Some of the images are below.

Carolyn & Drew - Wedding | Lutsen Resort Wedding

It was a gorgeous day on Lake Superior for Carolyn and Drew's wedding.  We always love to shoot weddings at Lutsen Resort and this day didn't disappoint.  We had a great time working with the wedding party and families.  You may recall their engagement session at Minnehaha Falls this past spring.

Julie & Mike - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge, Two Harbors, MN

The weather was perfect for Julie and Mike's wedding day at Grand Superior Lodge on the north shore of Lake Superior.  You may recall their engagement session last fall in Minneapolis.  Being the perfect day it was, there was a pretty good crowd at Gooseberry Falls, but due to impeccable timing we managed to get some great shots with no stray people in the background.  After the ceremony back at the lodge there was a bit of downtime to relax and get a few shots and then it was time for dinner and dancing.  The dance floor was full and it was quite a party.  Here are a few shots from the day:

Angie & Nathan - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

First wedding of 2013!  Angie and Nathan had a beautiful sunny (but chilly) day for their wedding at Grand Superior Lodge.  After the ceremony, we went to Gooseberry Falls State Park to the lodge they reserved for the ceremony "just in case" the weather didn't cooperate.  Got a few pictures on the shore, and then back to GSL for dinner and dancing.

Katelyn & Jeremy - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge, Two Harbors, MN

This wedding day started out very foggy and looking like it was going to rain, but as you can tell it cleared up beautifully in the afternoon.  Katelyn and Jeremy's wedding ceremony and reception were held at Grand Superior Lodge and before the ceremony we had time to run up to Gooseberry Falls for some pictures.  The evening shots by the lake are some of my favorites.

Megan & Brian - Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge, Two Harbors, MN

It was an extremely sunny day for Megan and Brian's wedding at Grand Superior Lodge.  I think I got sun burnt.  Leaves were a little past peak, but there was still plenty of fall color on the shore.  We met down at the pier in Two Harbors for their first sight.  Did a few pictures with the wedding party by the lake, then headed back to the lodge for the ceremony and reception.  The wedding party was all kinds of crazy, and the dance was a party.  We even had a full moon to finish off the night.  You can see their engagement session here.

Amanda & Brian - Wedding | Bluefin Bay Resort

We headed up to Bluefin Bay resort  one more time this season for Amanda and Brian's wedding day.  It was a little chilly, but we avoided the rain and the sun took a bit of the edge off.  We even had a rainbow for a few minutes right before the ceremony.  We never get tired of the beauty of the north shore.  There's always something new to see and the changing seasons, weather and lighting always shows a new side.  You may remember Amanda and Brian's engagement session in Minneapolis this past spring.
